Chick-fil-a Adventures
Posted on: December 17, 2008
There’s something I’ve been wanting to try for a bit now. See, I am a sucker for Chick-fil-a. It is warm and chickeney and delicious. Because of this, I’m very interested in attending a grand opening. See, if you’re one of the first 100 people at the grand opening, you get free Chick-fil-a for a year (aka 52 combo meals). I’ve tried once. It failed miserably, as we showed up at about 9 pm the night before the opening. It was then that I realised how hardcore some people can be. These things apparently fill up more then 24 hours in advance. People bring tents and everything, it’s insane!
They’ve changed the policy such that, exactly 24 hours before the opening, there is a lottery for all of the people there, and the first 100 drawn from that lottery get in. Albeit, they still have to wait that 24 hours, but it saves the insanity of people arriving ever earlier and earlier to wait ungodly amounts of time. Mind you, it’s liable to frustrate anyone who’s driven ungodly amounts of hours to get there, but it does give the locals a better chance at it.
In any case, I really want to try doing it. So, in about 5 hours or so, Drew and I will be in the process of waiting outside of a Chick-fil-a, in anticipation of our names being drawn. It shall be glorious indeed.

And if we do make it, I suspect I’m gonna start getting sick of chicken really fast. But it’ll be good until I get sick of it, at least!
