Magical berries, in cookie form!
A magical boon befell Drew and I this past Saturday. It was a ‘getting lost while going to one’s intended hiking destination, and ending up in an area extremely overripe with raspberries’ kind of day. Much picking was had, about 2-3 quarts worth I’d say. Glorious it was. There are the makings for many many future smoothies and baked goods and whatever else I can figure out to shove raspberries into. Here’s the content of one of the bags:

The next step, of course, was to make cookies with entirely too many flavors.
I’m on a ‘making cookies from cake mix’ kick, apparently. Started by the delightful chocolate chip cookies from a few days ago, I decided to continue this trend with some strawberry cake mix. Plans to use actual strawberries in said cake mix became drastically thwarted due to a.) the sudden luscious influx of raspberries, and b.) the fact that I am a cheap bastard and saw no need to have more then one type of berries in my fridge. Chocolate chips were also added by default, as certain persons who go by the name ‘Andrew’ have a difficult time consuming sweets that lack chocolate.
So here they are:

Despite the mildly conflicting chocolate/strawberry/raspberry taste, they were pretty good. Interesting too, how this cake mix produced flat cookies, whereas the chocolate cake mix produced fatter cookies. Or should I say, phatter cookies. Mmm, cookies.
